Ocean Palace by jstyle05 Ocean Palace by jstyle05
Maybe I'm the only one in the universe, but Adventure of Link is one of my favorite zelda game. This drawing is to show you how epic this game is.
This is the scene when you discover the Ocean Palace (5th palace), walking on water through the ocean with the magic boots.
Maybe I have a lot of imagination to see that but check out the original scene: [link]
woah! what an epic scene!

------

Love the sketchiness (haha) of this art! Especially your rocks & the building/structure. Great texture and shading. Not sure if it's ideal for this particular style but would love to see more depth - maybe darker blues for the water in the distance? Great grungy feel too (especially in the sky). :)

I was always sort of curious how the boots worked, especially since the game never called them anything but "boots".

I like how you show the Magic Boots almost giving off like yellow energy, helping Link to walk on the water.

Makes them look a lot like the Hover Boots from Ocarina of Time, right?

its not that its a bad game, its just a really really hard and odd game for the series.

it does have some epic scenes in it like this though, wonderful render of it

Oh wow... this is an amazing rendition of that scene.

Sadly I have never played that game, though it's on my to-do list.

I just absolutely love how you can look past the pixels to create this epic moment. :eager: This is awesome. :D

I know what you mean.

It happens to me with the older Dragon Quest games. Even with fans of "Dragon Warrior", I was alone because very few of them saw things like this (your illustration), when it was all I could see. This made the games really special for me, and even the tiniest scene with the "least important" NPC could be seen as something remarkable.

I've got to say that these images of scenes from Zelda 2 are pretty fantastic. Zelda 2 is one of my favorites in the series as well, so it's always fantastic to see someone giving it the love I feel it deserves.

It looks old and faded, and like a traditional watercolor, that's an awesome touch of detail to a really great painting! I love how you captured this scene so dramatically, the spin you put on those tiny pixels is really impressive and dramatic! The entrance to the palace looks perfect, not the kind of thing shouting for attention, easy to overlook for generations and let it fall into disrepair as it has.
I really love those rolling waves, the way they look and how they're colored, and how you depict the magic boots working on them. Man everything about this picture, it just works so well!
But you did have some real inspiration working with that epic screenshot ;D

I love it. I mean, in the old games, a lot was left to your imagination. For anyone who likes things open to interpretation, the older games have their charm.

Now, with the way games are now, there is little room to fill in the blanks...it's kind of bitter sweet.

I think a drawing from an older game like this is very rewarding.

You captured the ocean elements exceptionally well. The moment I laid eyes on this piece, I heard the sounds of the waves and smelled that fishy-ocean smell. This piece of art is a sucess in so many ways.

Dude... tu as effectivement beaucoup d'imagination :XD:.

De façon générale vraiment, good job! Et je demande: à quand le prochain! J'ai eu de la misère à le croire quand j'ai vu ton nom dans mes watch :noes:

Merci beaucoup!
